FAQs

  • We are out-of-network providers. This means that instead of working directly for specific insurance companies, we work directly with you. If you choose to submit a claim to your insurance company, we will provide you with the necessary documentation each month.

Our Choice to be Out of Network Providers:

Unfortunately, when clinicians work directly with insurance companies they typically place many constraints on the mental health providers. This can limit our ability to offer the highest quality care to those who we work with. In our experience, insurance companies tend to focus on the financial aspect of treatment as opposed to ensuring quality of care and personal progress towards goals. They can require specific diagnostic codes, put restrictions on the length of treatment and the number of sessions, and request documentation at regular intervals. Our goal is to provide you with quality treatment, tailored to your specific needs. In order to be free to prioritize you and your care, we have made the conscious decision to be out of network providers.

  • Yes! Confidentiality is the cornerstone of therapy. Trusting that everything you say will be kept private is necessary for therapy to be effective. You need the feel safe emotionally to be able to open up to your therapist. As with everything in life, there are specific exceptions to confidentiality. These scenarios will be addressed at the beginning of therapy and are typically very rare.

  • Absolutely not. Any reason to start therapy is a good reason. While many wait to start therapy when things are in crisis, it doesn’t have to start that way. It can even be advantageous to start therapy is before something is wrong. Therapy can gain momentum sooner when it begins this way.
